Welcome Christmas in Ellijay, GA on Friday, November 24th. Every year Downtown Ellijay host a themed event to kick off the holiday spirit. This year downtown will be transformed into Dr. Seuss's magical world of Whoville. The beautiful and fun event will start with the tree lighting in the square at 5:30 pm. There will be hot chocolate, caroling, and plenty of holiday cheer. Then at 6 pm, the night time parade of floats covered in lights will march down the street, and of course, the show will end with Santa Claus coming to town. There will be pictures with Santa and the Grinch so make sure you bring your camera. After the parade, visit the beautifully decorated stores in downtown and enjoy the treats of the holiday season. Everyone is encouraged to dress up in his or her best Whoville costume. This is the perfect way to start off the holiday season with the family. It is a celebration even the Grinch can not steal.
