North Georgia has an underrated, growing culinary scene as talented chefs continue to kickstart new ventures in Ellijay, Blue Ridge, and the surrounding communities. We’ve tried just about every meal possible throughout the region, so we know a thing or two about our local restaurants. Most of our North Georgia cabin rentals are within minutes of these four fantastic local establishments.
BEST LOCAL CHAIN – CANTABERRY RESTAURANT – DOWNTOWN ELLIJAY AND DOWNTOWN BLUE RIDGE
Besides fast food, one of the only local chains with a restaurant in both Ellijay and Blue Ridge is Cantaberry Restaurant. Both restaurants are located downtown, making them the perfect stop for lunch or dinner. The beautiful new Ellijay establishment opened in 2018 to rave reviews. Cantaberry has a back-to-the-basics mentality that works among locals and tourists alike. Much of the menu is made up of soups, sandwiches, and salads, all made from scratch using only homemade and locally-sourced ingredients. We absolutely love their Cuban, Cantaberry Philly, and country fried steak. But they also have rotating specials, such as pecan-crusted local trout, prime rib, and grouper tacos. They typically have live music on weekends as well!

ELLIJAY WOOD FIRED PIZZA – Located in Ellijay's historic downtown business district, Ellijay Wood Fired Pizza serves authentic Neapolitan style pizza and Italian food. This is not your typical pizza…..prepare to be wowed!
EMILY'S BAR AND RESTAURANT – Emily's is a family owned restaurant located in the historical city of Ellijay, Georgia. We offer seasonal and regional shareable plates, fresh seafood and prime steaks and work with local farmers that raise food ethically. We have ever changing menus to highlight what the individual seasons have to offer.
BEST FINE DINING – BLACK SHEEP – BLUE RIDGE
There are several noteworthy fine dining establishments in the area, but there’s just something magical about The Black Sheep in Blue Ridge. Located inside a historic home, The Black Sheep has the area’s largest patio, an eye-popping rotating list of award-winning wine, a rustic yet chic interior, and some of the finest cuisines in North Georgia. Several of our luxury cabins in North Georgia are a short drive from The Black Sheep’s tender steaks, raw bar, and fresh seafood. The prices are higher than your average North Georgia restaurant, which sometimes earns some criticism, but you’d be hardpressed to find a more romantic or lavish dining experience.
Best Barbecue: Mike's Trackside BBQ
Choosing the best barbecue was virtually a toss-up between Mike’s Trackside BBQ and Carroll's Barbeque, both out of nearby Blue Ridge, GA. Carroll’s provides much more seating, yummy homemade sauces, and out-of-this-world rolls, but Mike’s brisket is too good to ignore. Mike’s is located on the northern edge of historic downtown, a short stroll from breweries, shops, and the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway. Mike’s smoked beef brisket sandwich and smoked rib dinners are simply to-die-for.
